Job Summary:
Provides phone and receptionist support for the Behavioral Medicine
Center
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
1. Operate Meridian Telephone System to provide constant contact
with all callers (P,A,G) into the hospital with 90%
proficiency.
Operates meridian telephone system console to relay incoming,
outgoing and interoffice call (P,A,G). Answers questions of callers
according to hospital policy. Accurately documents messages and
relays to appropriate person in a timely manner. Correctly operates
T.D.D. (tele-device for the deaf) phone. Consults with Alabama
Relay Services as required to aid communication with the hearing
and speech impaired. Utilizes interpretation services when
necessary for people with a language barrier. Utilizes computerized
information to expedite the relay of calls.
2. Operates paging system according to hospital policy with 90%
proficiency..a. Is knowledgeable of paging and beeper policies and
procedures.
b. Pages authorized personnel as requested and in a timely
manner.
c. Makes announcements according to policy: Fire Drills & "Drill
Red" Disasters Code "Blue" Code "Zero" Visiting Hours Others
3. Operates other Communication Equipment with 95% proficiency.
Monitors and/or relays information utilizing the:Fire Alarms
Responds appropriately to hospital security procedures according to
policy.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
Education: High School or GED
Experience: At least 5 years experience, Servsafe certification
required by State
