Job Description:
Job Description Description Dynetics, a Leidos Company, is
seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer
to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex
problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the
defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides
responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT
solutions. Dynetics is seeking a GNC Engineer to support
developmental efforts for guidance, navigation, and control of air,
land, and sea launched flight systems. As a result of recent
growing programs, such as the AGM-190/A Small Cruise Missile, US
SOCOM’s GBU 69/B Small Glide Munition, multiple Hypersonic Missile
programs, DARPA’s Gremlins program, and other rapid development
efforts. Dynetics is looking for a GNC Engineer who is experienced
with flight vehicles, guided munitions, and/or UAS systems. The
successful applicant will demonstrate prior work or graduate level
research as applied to the development of navigation, guidance,
and/or autopilot algorithms, along with an ability to support GNC
development on advanced weapon systems in a highly accelerated
schedule to meet critical needs for the warfighters. Streamlined
development efforts will result in concept-to-flight timelines
measured in months, not years. The candidate is expected to
directly support development efforts while mentoring and training
engineering staff throughout development. Primary Responsibilities
Engineers in this position are responsible for the development and
analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms and
implementation of these items in 6DOF simulations,
Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) facilities, and operational flight
software. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of
conducting trade studies for design decisions, developing
techniques to assess, validate and verify performance, and
supporting flight tests with pre-flight predictions and post-flight
analyses. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or
physics plus 2 or more years of work or graduate level research
experience with feedback control system design, trajectory
optimization, guidance, navigation, and/or optimal estimation with
knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles. Strong math skills are
required in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics,
and trigonometry and coordinate transformation. Must be experienced
in MATLAB, Simulink, and C/C++ programming. Candidate must possess
solid technical communication skills and an ability to work in both
collaborative team environments and independently. Candidates must
be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate in
order to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office. Preferred
Qualifications Familiarity/experience with DoD digital engineering
paradigm. Experience in terrestrial navigation, SAASM, M-Code, and
GPS-denied operations are also desired. MS degree or higher is
strongly desired Come break things (in a good way). Then build them

weird. We don’t wear capes (they’re a safety hazard), but we do
solve high-stakes problems with code, caffeine, and a healthy
