United Launch Alliance is hiring! We are seeking a Manufacturing
Engineer RS2 to join our team at Decatur, AL.
This Manufacturing Engineer RS2 position designs manufacturing
processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies,
equipment installation, processing, machining and material
handling. The Manufacturing Engineer RS2 position designs
arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most
efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and
specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and
other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or
equipment design to factory and production conditions. May
incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production
plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to
verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective
action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical
process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides
guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification
requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing
techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with

External Additional Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Aerospace
Engineering (or an equivalent Engineering discipline).
* 2-6 years related work experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word,
* Good oral and written skills.
External Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Teamcenter and SAP.
* Training or experience developing and maintaining a manufacturing
bill of materials.
* Training or experience with arrangement of machines within plant
facilities to ensure efficient and productive layout.
* A good understanding of design engineering principles.
* Knowledge of clean room operations and fluid systems
* Broad understanding of wire harness assembly and processing.
* Strong teamwork ethic and ability to integrate with other
