Qualifications and requirements Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. One year of experience preferred 2 year or greater of Charge nurse experience. Serves as a clinical resources for staff on their assigned shift or unit. Coordinates patient care and delegates duties and responsibilities to staff and holds individuals accountable for outcomes achieved First line supervisor over a group of employees or a unit. May initiate disciplinary action and provide input into a subordinate's performance evaluations. Instructs workers in normal operational tasks. Includes department managers of small departments.
