Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Physical Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel \n Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation with experience in acute care and required IL licensure. \n \n Responsibilities\n Position is in an acute care hospital setting on the inpatient rehab unit Work schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with every third weekend required Physical Therapy services may be provided throughout various units within the hospital as needed Patient population includes adolescent, young adult, middle adult, and older adult patients across cardiopulmonary, geriatric, neurology, and orthopedic cases Level II trauma center with 372 staffed beds Cerner charting system is used; experience preferred Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and management of diverse rehab cases Floating is required to various units within the hospital as needed Will work every third weekend and must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Scrub color is gray Parking permit is required but provided at no cost Position is open to local candidates with no radius restriction First-time travelers are accepted Previous perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler \n \n Requirements\n Minimum 1 year of recent physical therapy experience in acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings Current BLS certification required Active IL PT license required for consideration; license required if applicable Proficiency with assessment, documentation, adaptive and assistive devices, and key physical therapy interventions and modalities including TENS and ultrasound Experience managing a wide range of orthopedic, neurologic, geriatric, and cardiopulmonary conditions Competency with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, gait belts, crutches, and specialty beds Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance deadline for fingerprinting \n Benefits\n High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts \n American Traveler Job ID P-594009.
