This pivotal role entails close collaboration with the nursing staff and healthcare team to ensure the provision of high-quality care throughout the labor and delivery process. The coordinator will play a crucial role in managing patient care, enhancing staff education, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and implementing clinical improvement initiatives tailored to our maternity unit. Oversee daily operations in the labor and delivery unit, ensuring effective patient care and compliance with safety standards. Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate comprehensive patient care. Implement patient care plans and monitor patient status, adjusting as necessary. Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development. Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training of new nursing staff members. Lead quality improvement initiatives and compliance with healthcare regulations. Document care processes and outcomes to facilitate continuous improvement and compliance. Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills In-depth knowledge of labor and delivery procedures Ability to work effectively under pressure Proficient in healthcare software and medical records management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
