In our state-of-the-art emergency department, you will be responsible for providing critical care to children experiencing a range of medical emergencies. This role demands a compassionate, skilled nurse who is committed to delivering top-notch medical care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in pediatric emergency care, capable of quick decision-making and adept at managing both the physical and emotional needs of young patients and their families. Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for children in the emergency department. Monitor patient status and respond to medical emergencies with precision and efficiency. Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate comprehensive patient care. Communicate effectively with children and their families, providing support and information during their emergency department visit. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs. Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and initiating replenishment orders. Strong clinical skills with an emphasis on pediatric assessments Proficiency in emergency medical procedures and protocols Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively under intense pressure Compassion and patience in dealing with children and their families Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
