(CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating
Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. A seasoned nurse with a
background in Neuro/Spine surgical procedures is sought for a day
shift in the Main Operating Room. This contract role offers a
36-hour workweek with on-call weekend hours to support high-quality
patient care in a surgical environment specializing in neuro and
spine cases. Location: Positioned in a premier medical center, this
role is based in Birmingham, AL, within a 24-bed surgical unit
featuring a 1:1 patient ratio. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR for
efficient charting and communication. The operating room is
equipped with advanced technologies including tools for vascular,
orthopedic, and maxillofacial procedures, with preference given to
candidates experienced in these areas as well as the Davinci
robotic surgery system. Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled
nursing care in the Neuro/Spine OR, ensuring patient safety and
adherence to clinical protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary
teams to support surgical procedures and patient recovery. Maintain
sterile environments and comply with facility dress codes and
policies, including specified scrub colors and restrictions on
attire and grooming. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum 2 years
of experience in a Neuro/Spine OR setting required. Active Basic
Life Support (BLS) certification. Familiarity with vascular,
orthopedic, and maxillofacial surgical procedures and robotic
surgery systems preferred. Ability to work day shifts 6:00 AM to
4:30 PM, with weekend on-call responsibilities as scheduled.
