Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the Company's recruitment and on-boarding of new employees, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations and company policies, administration and annual renewal of employee benefit plans, and enhancing employee retention, engagement, training and career development.

Detailed duties and responsibilities:



  • Assist with the screening of job applicants and conduct interviews

  • Update Employee Handbook and other company HR policies on an as needed basis

  • Ensure a successful and efficient on-boarding process and orientation for new employees

  • Manage the employee recruitment effort and continue to build a team of in-house recruiters

  • Work with Senior Management to enhance employee training and career development programs

  • Proactively seek creative ways to continually improve employee engagement and morale

  • Periodically benchmark AST's wages and employee benefits to ensure it remains in-line with the market

  • Lead the annual employee benefit plan renewal process

  • Handle ad-hoc employee questions and issues

  • Participate in acquisition due diligence on HR related matters as well as post-closing integration

  • Actively monitor compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal company policies

  • Periodically travel to branch locations to assist with special projects

    Required and desired skills:



    • Minimum three years of related work experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field

    • Ability to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries

    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; ability to adapt to change

    • Must be able to assume initiative and work independently with minimal direction

    • Strong communication, organizational, time management and documentation skills

    • Willing to travel to satellite offices as needed
