As a Software Engineer RS-3, you will work with a highly
collaborative team in an Agile environment embracing a "fail-fast"
mentality (fail fast, fail often, react quickly and learn from
every failure). You will engage with Product Owners, Scrum Masters,
Technology Architects, and Automation team members on
cross-functional activities to design, develop, and test
cutting-edge software solutions.
As a Software Engineer RS-3 you will be responsible for working on
a team to develop new software products, implement modern design
principles and concepts, resolve complex technical problems, and
provide solutions which are innovative and ingenious.

ULA Job Description:
Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware
components and computing systems software to be applied to and
integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing
requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes,
procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle
to support the generation of such engineering applications and
products such as flight control and display systems, mechanical and
electrical systems. Interfaces with customers, suppliers,
application users and other technical and support personnel.
External Additional Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical
* 4 to 8 years of hands on related work experience
* Experience with Unix-based operating systems
* Experience with object-oriented designs and languages
* Experience with Software Configuration Management practices and
tools such as Git, SVN, or Perforce
* Embraces Lean-Agile development (Scrum/SAFe/XP) and shared design
* Experience with core web technologies (ex. HTML, CSS, XML, JSON,
* Experience with Databases
* Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and personal
transportation to drive where public transportation is not
External Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Git
* Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical
* Experience leading in a Software Engineering environment
* Experience presenting software architecture and designs to both
internal audiences; as well as, external customers
* Experience in Test Driven Development and Behaviors Driven
Development along with associated tools (e.g. pyUnit, Google Test /
* Cloud Deployment (AWS)
* Experience with Python programming
* Experience with Java programming
* Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket,
Bamboo) and JFrog Artifactory
* Written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous

supervisor, and departmental staff. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is regularly required to exercise prudent
judgment, decision making, and analytical skills to determine
manner and operational steps necessary to properly handle inquiries
and perform daily tasks within professional standards. Decision
making is guided by ULA policies and procedures.
