Farm and Innis just outside of Nashville, yet feels a world away.
Here, everything is intended to put guests in harmony with the
land, with their stunning surroundings, and with themselves. The
farm operation focuses on regenerative seed-to-fork dining and
providing guests with a rich and authentic experience of “the land
as luxury.” The farm team is responsible for the production of
vegetables, herbs, fruits, berries, flowers and poultry, and for
maintaining the health and quality of our soil and ecosystem. Our
key internal customers are the onsite restaurants and food
processing spaces. Over the coming years we will be expanding to
serve more external customers, including local retail customers,
partner restaurants in Nashville and food-focused nonprofits in the
area. Position Description: This new position in Southall’s farm
team will operate at the interface of our production team and the
customers who rely on our produce, from the chefs at Southall and
our partner restaurants to retail customers and charity
organizations. This role will be responsible for all produce from
the point of harvest to the point of sale, including supervising
the washing, processing, packing and storing of produce
appropriately. This position is also responsible for communicating
product availability to our customers as well as customer needs to
our production team, and for managing the order and delivery
process for smooth customer experience. As we continue to expand
production each season, the Postharvest & Distribution Manager will
be a key player in setting up and maintaining the systems that will
help us to meet demand, maintain product quality, communicate with
our customers and minimize food waste. Candidates should have:
strong organization and an eye for consistency in detailed daily
processes a proactive approach that can help to push sales and grow
relationships the ability to communicate effectively with customers
and growers Key Accountabilities: Manage the postharvest processing
and storage of all produce, fruit, flowers, meat and eggs to ensure
the highest standards of safety, quality, freshness and appearance
Monitor product inventory and push it to appropriate outlets to
maximize utilization Maintain and improve ordering system and
manage the picking, packing, delivery and communication of all
product orders to ensure a great experience for internal and
external customers (including donation partners) Maintain
designated processing, storage and working spaces to a high
standard, driving continuous improvement of food safety, workplace
functionality and guest experience Lead and supervise Farm
Cultivation Team Members when they are assigned to your area,
ensuring safety, efficiency and high work standards Create, train,
enforce and continuously improve standardized processes within the
postharvest operation Ensure tools, supplies and materials
necessary for effective operation are available, organized and
maintained Ensure detailed records of operations and outcomes are
captured, organized and shared appropriately Core Processes:

skills A strong interest in food and agriculture Experience working
with postharvest systems on farms is a plus but not necessarily
required Experience with GAP and food standards is a plus but not
required Other Requirements: The job will require lifting of
objects 50 lbs. multiple times per day Some of your daily work will
be guest facing and you will be required to follow guidelines for
these interactions Valid driver’s license and the ability to work
in Franklin TN.
