Job Description Decatur Family Eye Care is seeking qualified candidates to join our growing practice as an Optometric Assistant You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to help keep our practice running smoothly. Responsibilities: Greet and welcome incoming patients Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff Communicate with medical and vision insurance companies and verify benefits for proper billing Assist with the check-in and check-out process for patients Communicate with patients to confirm appointments Assist with insurance billing and coding Field phone calls from patients --- Qualifications: Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields Familiarity with medical billing procedures and insurance verification Strong organizational skills Friendly, bright, and detail-oriented Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Higher compensation may be offered for bilingual applicants with Spanish fluency Applicant may be asked to perform a typing test to assess computer skills Benefits & Compensation Decatur Family Eye Care offers a competitive salary; health and dental insurance and vision benefits; option for life and disability insurance; profit sharing; paid holidays, vacation and PTO; a great team environment, and continuing education benefits Professional development tracks such as CPO offered with lucrative bonus structure.
