Have a passion for airborne systems? The Small Airborne
Effectors Division within the Leidos Kinetic Effects Business Area
is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and producing
small to medium airborne missiles, unmanned vehicles, and payload
effectors for a wide variety of defense customers. Our team is
seeking a Lead Electrical Design & Integration Engineer to work at
our Huntsville, AL campus providing support to a variety of design,
integration, and test programs related to missile systems and
unmanned aircraft. This role offers a wide variety of hands-on work
spanning avionics, integration, test, mission support, and field
operations in development, prototype, and production environments.
This is a dynamic opportunity in which talented engineers can
thrive working on a diverse array of multidisciplinary projects in
the kinetic effectors arena. We are in search of a highly
motivated, trained, and talented electrical engineer to lead a
development and integration team of multidisciplined engineers and
technicians and to foster advanced technology programs through the
complete product lifecycle from research and development through
full production. Primary Responsibilities Design, fabricate,
analyze, and integrate hardware, firmware, and software solutions
that successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges
Test and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software in both lab
and field environments Design electrical and/or software
architectures and integrated systems for real-time,
mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors,
ground vehicles, and ground control systems Collaborate and
communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and team
members to determine and develop hardware and software requirements
Contribute to system hardware and software architecture decisions
based on customer performance requirements, schedule, and cost
constraints including build vs. buy trades Support task execution
including electrical system design, avionics design, payload
integration, analog/digital/RF printed circuit board hardware
design, FPGA and hardware description language development,
hardware-in-the-loop simulation, system debugging, and systems
engineering Work independently as part of a broader
multi-disciplined engineering team Work collaboratively with
project teams to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems
and products across a broad range of applications Coordinate with
purchasing department and outside board/cable shops to procure
hardware Work in a lab environment testing and integrating hardware
Work closely with manufacturing teams to facilitate the transition
from prototype hardware to a deliverable product Basic
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or
computer engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 4 or
more years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in electrical
engineering or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited
institution with 2 or more years of relevant experience
Demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: electrical system
design, electrical circuit design and simulation, hardware and
software interface design and integration, software or firmware
development, troubleshooting/debugging hardware/software in a lab
and/or field environment Parts selection, electrical schematic
capture, and wiring harness design experience Understanding of PC
board layout design and SMT manufacturing experience Excellent
verbal and written communication skills Constructive collaboration
within and among multi-disciplinary teams Availability to travel to
support testing and other events (average 10%) Active SECRET
security clearance or the ability to obtain one Preferred
Qualifications RF and/or switching power supply design experience
Field testing and debugging Sensor instrumentation experience
(acceleration, velocity, position, pressure) Experience with
development and testing of flight hardware Radio communication
links and GPS/INS systems Rapid prototyping, integration, and test
experience Requirements-based design and test planning Technical

Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00 The Leidos pay range for
this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of
compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending

job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as
well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable
